TO THIS POINT Mid-Continent champions How They Got Here: Homer Drew was suposed to give Valpo stability, not lead the Crusader back to the NCAAs. But that's what happened, as Valpo won 14 of its final 17 games to win a wide-open Mid-Con regular season and tournament. How long with Homer stick around? Better question, how long will the Crusaders keep things close this week?
PLAYER TO WATCH Dan Oppland | F | Sophomore
On a team full of international flavor, this big kid from the Midwest put the Crusaders on his back in the Mid-Con semis (32 points, 8 rebounds). On the season, Oppland had six double-doubles and six games of 20 or more points. The Crusaders will look for his stable inside game to stay close in the first round.
